BOW BALL

December 11th 2011

Once all the excitement of racing was over, it was a speedy turnaround and on to Bow Ball.

This year’s venue for the annual black-tie event was the Cathedral Lodge set inside the grounds of Canterbury Cathedral. The beautiful and Christmassy location, along with the adrenaline of the day gave the night a real sense of occasion.

A massive thank you to Gareth for organising the event. The place really did look beautiful – but obviously not as good as all of you! Who knew rowers could scrub up so well!

The night went as smoothly as planned. A couple of bromance orientated speeches from the Chairman and Vice Chairman and an absolutely steamed Novice Coordinator kept the party spirit going long after the desserts were finished.

I would like to say again, in more sober tones, how much the whole of the rowing club really appreciates all the help and support of both Mike and Andy. It is so generous of both of them and we would not be the club or the rowers we are today without them.

It was a brilliant night and the perfect way to let off steam after a hard terms training.
