Following an intense build up Kent Rowing initiations took to Canterbury.

This year’s theme; ARMY!

The evening started at Woodies where power drunk senior ‘lieutenants’ set about making the night as gruelling as possible for the novice ‘cadets’… and those of us unfortunate enough to miss our own initiations!

The night is a rather hazy collection of press-ups, ambushings, obstacle courses, multiple oars of redemption, flour and a lot of poster paint. Punishments were handed out for the slightest discrepancy and examples were made of cadets who failed to show their respects. Needless to say we finished the night an absolute mess in every sense of the word!

Unfortunately I never made it to the works (I wonder why!) but from what I hear it was a top night.
The poster paint took a good week to come off completely and I am still sporting a number of bruises from the night, I think it is safe to say we have been well and truly initiated!

I would just like to say, a massive well done to all those who helped in organising the night, cracking job guys!

Just be warned seniors, novice revenge is not too far away and I get the feeling there might be a lot of people who have a lot to be revengeful for – hope you are all looking forward to it!
